i wish i was a lesbian back in harlem in the 1920's so i could've experienced the whole gay scene back then and met gladys bentley, mabel hampton, and josephine baker. as for someone recent, i really wish i could've met aaliyah in person, because i've heard she was a really humble, down-to-earth, extremely physically beautiful person, and that is a rare combination. i would also like to meet audre lorde, marvin gaye, and bob marley.
